Cloud Healthcare & Medical Imaging Platform

Architected and helped build a cloud-native medical imaging and data platform supporting ophthalmic research and clinical workflows. The platform combines AWS infrastructure, DICOM interoperability, REST APIs, secure data exchange, role-based access control, annotation and visualization applications, and AI/ML-enabled imaging workflows.

  • Designed cloud-native healthcare architecture on AWS
  • Built and evolved REST APIs and microservices supporting imaging and workflow applications
  • Implemented secure authentication, authorization, and RBAC for protected healthcare data
  • Developed DICOM interoperability and medical-imaging workflows
  • Led development of annotation, visualization, and data-management applications
  • Applied AI/ML techniques to imaging problems including segmentation, motion correction, cone identification, and biomarker extraction
  • Established engineering practices supporting HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements

Enterprise Pharmacy & Healthcare Software

Led software development for pharmacy, long-term-care, and outpatient healthcare systems deployed at more than 6,000 customer sites. Managed six Scrum teams while remaining closely involved in architecture, application development, APIs, healthcare integration, security, and delivery.

  • Led development of high-volume healthcare transaction systems
  • Worked with HIPAA, EPCS, EDI, and PCI requirements
  • Designed and delivered REST-based application integrations
  • Supported pharmacy, long-term-care, and outpatient healthcare workflows

Radiology Information & Medical Imaging Systems

Co-founded a healthcare software company developing radiology information and medical imaging systems. Led product engineering as the organization grew from an early-stage software company to an engineering organization of more than 50 developers.
